Los Reyes serán los padrinos de la infanta Leonor

Los Reyes serán los padrinos de la infanta Leonor, cuyo bautizo se celebrará el próximo 14 de enero en la Zarzuela.

La Casa del Rey confirmó ayer, a última hora de la tarde, la fecha de la ceremonia religiosa y también de que don Juan Carlos y doña Sofía, tal como se suponía, serán los padrinos de su nieta menor. La pequeña recibirá las aguas bautismales a los dos meses y medio de su nacimiento, que se produjo el pasado 31 de octubre en Madrid.

El Príncipe y sus hermanas, las infantas Elena y Cristina, también fueron bautizados en las dependencias de la residencia oficial de los Reyes, lo mismo que los hijos de los duques de Lugo y de Palma. Todos llevaron en su bautismo el mismo faldón que en su día lució el rey Juan Carlos cuando fue bautizado en Roma en el mes de enero de 1938.

A la ceremonia del bautismo de la infanta Leonor de Borbón asistirá, además de la familia real, el presidente del Gobierno, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.

Los Príncipes han optado por el 14 de enero tras descartar el sábado 7 de enero, por ser una fecha muy próxima a las fiestas navideñas, y el tercer sábado del mes, el día 21, por coincidir con un viaje a Bolivia de don Felipe para asistir a la toma de posesión del nuevo presidente del país sudamericano, que surgirá de las elecciones que se celebran hoy.
